The tipping gauge for rain measurement has not proved very successful. I have never been able to reconcile its readings with an adjacent cylinder gauge. And recently it has started giving spurious high readings for a reason I have yet to ascertain.

Because of this and other hardware problems I have begun to look round for a new weather station more reliable than this Davis Vantage Pro. In the meantime - please treat the rain measurement with great caution....
